When an award-winning North-West construction firm was given the opportunity to build 30 new affordable apartments in Sefton for their clients , Teal Scaffold were appointed.

To prevent deterioration of the area, the registered social housing provider wanted to provide much needed affordable housing solutions to the area. Teal Scaffold were honoured to support their vision in reinvesting and strengthening communities.

As for any construction project, reliable, safe and cost-effective scaffolding is vital if the construction project is to run safely, keep to time, and stay within budgets.

After a competitive tender, Teal Scaffold was recognised as the best fit and was appointed to provide scaffold to the local project.

Our team of working at height professionals built a traditional tube and fit solution to span the perimeter of the building – 116m X 9m high.

Working on a six month set timeline, our team of scaffolders completed three lifts of scaffolding taking it to the roofline of the building.

Contracts Managers at the construction firm said: ” Excellent service from Teal Scaffold. They have proved to be reliable, prompt and extremely knowledgeable to Sovini Construction. The scaffold was erected in a professional manner. Couldn’t come any more highly recommended!”.

The residential scheme in the heart of Congleton was developed on the land of a demolished and disused mill.

The bespoke tube and fit scaffold solution was carefully erected to span the 104 metres perimeter of the new build structure.

The scaffold that stood nine metres high provided access for trade workers to complete the properties construction in a logical and straight forward manner. For our team this meant delivering external and internal scaffolding on a progressive build plan.

Inside, our team provided edge protection crash decks and birdcage scaffolding to facilitate the internal work such as installation of floor joists and plastering of walls.

On the exterior of the build our team built six progressive stages of scaffold to allow bricklayers to construct each tier of the building and contractors to build the roof.

Due to the volume of materials involved, our new build scaffold service provided staircases, loading bays that stretched four metres long and 1.5 metres wide. All of which were constructed using NASC guidelines, allowing for up to 3kn per square metre of safe working loads and lift heights between 1.5-1.8 metres.

Teal Scaffold delivered a bespoke access solution to support on Sovini Construction’s largest development to date. The development hosts a total of 145 homes inclusive of one, two, three and four bed houses as well as an apartment block home to 58 flats.

The apartment block freestanding scaffold was erected to support the modernised timber frame construction. Our team created a safe, compliant structure with multiple configurations and additional safety precautions which enabled multiple tradesmen to work at height safely.

As the perimeter of the scaffold was 280m the tube and fit solution was erected in four lifts to coincide with the build requirements and floor height. Logical and straight forward access for the construction team was provided  The bespoke design solution included staircase and loading bay adaptions for numerous specialist tradesmen.

External to the apartment block we created progressive scaffolding to allow bricklayers to construct each tier of the building and contractors to build the roofs.

Our team installed comprehensive work platforms at the required levels and a blocking lift scaffold up to roof level to complete any plastering, truss, and tiling work.

Steve Parrington, Managing Director shared: “As proud partners of The Sovini Group we are delighted to be able to utilise the Group’s full supply chain.
